Update to everyone coming to this post looking for a solution to the problem:
A rep from Slacker responded to my post in the comments, and she has stated that they are not developing for beta browsers. A simple answer, and it's all that I was looking for. Meanwhile, everyone looking to listen to Slacker on Chrome for Mac, you'll just have to wait til it's publicly released, or keep trying with each new Chrome beta release.
So I’m sitting at my desk at work. Trying to play some music to keep me going forward eagerly with my work. I open up one of my favourite music player web apps, Slacker.com… to play one of my custom stations, and so on…
Of course, this is the first time I’m opening it in my Google Chrome browser for mac, beta release of course. I rapidly find out that the app wont load. The majority of the page will, but the meat of the program wont. So I head to slacker’s support page, and choose the live chat. I was gravely disappointed with what I was provided. Here’s the conversation:
Charles B.: Hi, my name is Charles B.. How may I help you?
Corey H.: I’m having trouble using Slacker in Google Chrome on Mac
[5+ minutes of waiting]
Corey H.: ?
Charles B.: We do not test Google Chrome for MAC. Try Safari or Internet Explorer.
Corey H.: really? That’s it? I realize it’s in beta, but it’s google. I hope you realize the amount of people switching to it now that the beta is available for Mac OSX… You should be clamoring to make it work
Corey H.: Disappointing.
Corey H.: I love slacker. but i’m just going to use another player until I feel like checking to see if slacker is working again.
Charles B.: That is totally up to you. We do not work in beta browsers or test against them.
Corey H.: I’d imagine you’d develop for it, especially to be ready for when it becomes the release version.
[Starts typing... then stops]
Corey H.: especially since you already have a functional web app… mostly functional
[no answer]
Corey H.: Well thank you, since you dont have a suggestion for a fix. I’ll be using Lala.com for now. I look forward to when Slacker works with Chrome on Mac
Charles B.: Thank you for using Slacker Live Chat Support.
Have a wonderful day.
I just hoped to have better service from such an interesting web oriented company.

Well it’s not as if they’re going to drop everything and fix it right now just for you. It’s not as if it’s the end of the world that they don’t have it for Chrome yet.
And this oval shit at the bottom of this page REALLY needs to go away.
I never expected them to drop everything and fix it. Just to say that they were working on it, or even considering it. But the fact that they didn’t even seem to want to consider it was just wrong.
And the oval shit probably will, when I have time for a redesign, it’ll happen. I dont like pretty much anything on the site anymore. Just glad the content is there.
Hi Admin,
I understand your concerns. In customer support we can’t promise anything that might not come out. At this time we do not support Chrome. While it’s always possible that in the future this changes, we simply do not know. Therefore, the only answer we can give you is the one that you received which is at this time Chrome is not supported. In order to fully take advantage of the site, you will need to use one of the Supported Browsers.
I feel this is a better answer than to give you false hope or provide an untrue answer. I hope this information provides you with some additional information into the answer you received.
Best regards,
Rome E
Slacker Support
Thank you for contacting me. I was never expecting a solution. I know that wasnt going to happen right away. I was looking for a reason, and a suggestion that you, slacker, were working on it. His statement that you simply didnt support it, Never said anything about development. Even when I mentioned it. I felt the experience was lacking, which is why I’ve posted this. Thank you for replying, I’m grateful that you did. And I look forward to when Slacker works on chrome. I’ll mostly be using chrome, so I’ll be using other apps instead, but I’m sure I’ll be back for slacker again soon.
Edit: I will admit that I am in the wrong. I’ve learned that the majority of app developers will not develop for a beta release. I’m sorry to have disrupted the daily flow of things. I just wanted to put this out there. Especially cause I’ve read threads where slacker worked with previous releases of chrome.
